A demin plant or deionising plant removes ions and minerals from water, this is suitable when very pure water is required. Typically uses are plating, glass wash, chemical manufacture, electronics and high pressure boilers.

Excel Water have developed the EX Series of demineralization plants which are specially designed to give trouble free low cost supply of deionised water to typically less than 10 micro-seimens. The two-stage co-flow plant consists of a epoxy coated skid which supports two poly-glass vessels, one containing a cation resin, the other an anion resin. The chemical resistant valves mounted on the vessels control the service and regeneration flows. Commercially available hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide is used to regenerate the resins when necessary.
